Trusting in…
God's immutable faithfulness, mercy, justice, and love.
There is nothing quite like the absolute and perfect trust a child has in its mother and father. Before even comprehending much of anything let alone concepts like love, mercy, faithfulness, and justice, a newborn knows where its food comes from and expects its cries for everything will be heard and understood. The child that receives faithful love, mercy, and justice grows and matures and thrives, often in spite of incredible odds. And yet try as we might, the very best of any of us at being parents remain deeply flawed and inherently prone to fail – whether overdoing one thing or under-doing another.
But there is One Who calls us to simply come to Him as little children – even infants (Luke 18:17; 1 Peter 2:2). The God Who is unchanging (Hebrews 6:17-18; 2 Timothy 2:13) is Love (1 John 4:16) and is forever poured out in unwavering mercy and justice (Exodus 34:6-7; Lamentations 3:22). This same God, is the Father of all who are born again by the Spirit in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:15)!
Therefore, we trust in God (Psalm 56:11; 143:8).
